Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been arrested following allegations of cyberbullying involving her colleague, Mercy Johnson.
According to reports, Okorie was arrested at her Lagos residence on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja.
The development was disclosed on Wednesday by entertainment journalist and founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi.
Oloketuyi stated that the actress spent the night at the Yaba Police Station, Panti, before being flown to Abuja in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Angela Okorie was arrested yesterday at her Lagos residence by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre, Abuja,” he wrote on his Instagram page. “She was put on a 6am flight to Abuja this morning to face court proceedings connected to a cybercrime matter involving Mercy Johnson.”
The reported arrest comes exactly one week after Mercy Johnson publicly declared that cyberbullying directed at her and her family would no longer be tolerated in 2026.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Angela Okorie nor Mercy Johnson has officially commented on the matter.
