Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has been plunged into mourning following the death of his father, marking a sorrowful start to the New Year for the movie star.
Timini announced the sad loss on his Instagram page, expressing heartbreak over having to say goodbye to his father at the beginning of the year. He noted that there was still so much left unsaid, but vowed to continue living in a way that would make his late father proud.
“Didn’t think I’ll start the year saying this.
Rest in peace, Dad.
So much left unsaid, but I’ll keep making you proud,” he wrote.

The post triggered an outpouring of condolences from colleagues, friends and fans across the entertainment industry. Several Nollywood stars took to the comment section to express their sympathy and support.
Paulo Okoye wrote, “My deepest condolences, Timini and Dakore,” while Beverly Naya said, “My deepest condolences, Timini.” Veteran actor RMD added, “So sorry, son! May his soul rest in peace.”
Others who sent condolence messages include Adesua Etomi, Kunle Remi, Toyin Abraham, Funke Akindele, Sharon Ooja, Ruth Kadiri, Tiwa Savage, Mercy Aigbe, Osas Ighodaro and Gabriel Afolayan, all praying for strength and comfort for the grieving actor and his family.
Timini’s loss adds to the growing list of Nollywood stars who have lost loved ones in recent months. Just a week ago, actress Lizzy Gold announced the death of her father, lamenting that he was meant to cross into the New Year with them.

In recent times, several actors have also mourned their parents, including Julius Agwu, Mercy Aigbe, Odunlade Adekola, Adekola Tijani, Nuella Njubigbo, Ini Edo and Woli Arole, highlighting a season of grief within the Nigerian film industry.
