Nigeria’s aviation sector gained a significant boost this week with the official launch of ETAM Avitat Services Limited, a new entrant promising to deliver world class ground handling, aircraft maintenance, and executive aviation services.
Unveiled at a high-profile event in Abuja, the company’s debut drew attendance from major industry stakeholders, including representatives from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and key figures from the private sector.

Capt. Edom Tawo, Chief ExecutivCapt.e Officer of ETAM Avitat, described the launch as a strategic step toward raising industry standards and supporting Nigeria’s ambition to become a regional aviation hub.
“We are here to bridge critical service gaps, enhance operational standards, and ensure Nigeria’s aviation industry competes on the global stage,” said Tam. “ETAM Avitat is positioned to deliver premium ground support, aircraft management, and operational efficiency for both domestic and international clients.”

The company’s new Abuja-based facility will serve as its primary operations center. Services on offer include VIP charter coordination, refueling, aircraft cleaning, and flight planning designed to meet the needs of both business aviation and commercial carriers.
Industry observers have welcomed the move, citing increased air traffic into Nigeria from Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, alongside a growing need for reliable service providers in the post-pandemic aviation landscape.

“ETAM Avitat’s entry signals renewed investor confidence in Nigeria’s aviation future,” said aviation consultant Bisi Ogundele. “It reflects a shift toward professionalism and signals the market’s readiness for modern, international-standard operations.”

As Nigeria intensifies its efforts to position itself as a regional aviation powerhouse, the arrival of ETAM Avitat could serve as a catalyst ushering in a new era of enhanced service delivery, operational excellence, and private sector led growth in the skies.
