President Bola Tinubu is set to preside over the inauguration of the new Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Monday, marking the official commencement of duties for the newly appointed ministers. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place at the State House in Abuja.
In anticipation of this significant event, the newly appointed ministers have taken the necessary steps to prepare for their official induction. They have been advised to provide essential documents, including their curriculum vitae, birth certificate or declaration of age, and two passport photographs, among other requirements, to facilitate the clearance process.
Nnamdi Mbaeri, the Permanent Secretary of General Services in the Office of the Secretary to the Federation, issued a statement on Thursday detailing the inauguration process. The documentation and clearance procedures for the ministers will be conducted at the Conference Room of the General Services Office, located on the second floor of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. This process will occur on both Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 20, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm.
Mbaeri, in a notice, indicated: “Ministers-designate are to please note that their documentation will take place at the Conference Room, General Services Office, Second Floor, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday 20.
“The ministers are expected to be sworn in by President Bola Tinubu on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.”
The highlight of the inauguration will be the administration of the oath of office and the oath of allegiance to the newly appointed ministers by President Tinubu. The solemn ceremony is slated to take place on Monday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, marking an essential step in the formal integration of the ministers into their roles within the Federal Executive Council.
