Senate President, Senator Godwill Akpabio, announced the arrival of the second batch of ministerial nominees from Tinubu.
The updated ministerial list comprises 19 names, which includes former governors Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), and Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe).
Earlier on Wednesday, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to Tinubu, Femi Gbajiabiamila, presented the list to the Senate.
The list completes the ministerial representation for the remaining eleven states that were yet to receive ministerial slots.
To allow Gbajiabiamila to present the list, the Senate invoked Order 12(i) to permit the former speaker’s entry into the chamber at 3.15 pm.
The names on the supplementary list are as follows: Ahmed Tijjani; Bosun Tijjani; Dr. Maryam Shetti; Ishak Salako; Tunji AlausA; Tanko Sununu; Adegboyega Oyetola; Atiku Bagudu; Bello Matawalle; Ibrahim Geidam; Simon Bako Lalong; Lola Adejo; and Shuaibu Abubakar.
Other nominees on the list are Tahir Mamman; Aliyu Sabi; Alkali Ahmed; Heineken Lokpobiri; Uba Maigari; and Zephaniah Jissalo.
Last week, Gbajabiamila submitted the much-awaited initial ministerial list to Akpabio, which contained 28 names. The 1999 Constitution requires each state to have a minister.
Among the nominees read by Akpabio were former governors Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Dave Umahi (Ebonyi), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), and Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa).
Other notable names on the list included former Lagos Commissioner of Finance, Wale Edun, and Tinubu’s current special adviser on Communications and Special Duties, Dele Alake.
The supplementary list also featured Abubakar Momoh, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama, Arch Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, Barr. Hannatu Musawa, Chief Uche Nnaji, and Dr. Betta Edu.
Dr. Doris Aniche Uzoka, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Nkiru Onyejeocha, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Hon. Stella Okotete, Hon. Uju Ohaneye, and Mr. Bello Muhammad were also included.
Moreover, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi SAN, Mr. Muhammad Idris, Mr. Waheed Adebayo Adelabu, Mrs. Suleiman Ibrahim, Prof. Ali Pate, Prof. Joseph U, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Sen John Owan-Enoh, and Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi were listed among the nominees.
