Renowned afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, who recently faced a challenging encounter with the police, has left the country just 48 hours after his release from prison.

As previously reported by DAILY POST, the Grammy-nominated singer had been held at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Panti, Yaba, Lagos. This followed an incident captured in a viral video where he was accused of assaulting a police officer. However, on Tuesday, he was granted bail after spending eight days in detention.

While appearing at the Chief Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, for his trial on Wednesday, the proceedings were adjourned to July 3, 2023, due to the absence of the magistrate.

On Thursday, Seun Kuti took to his Instastory to announce his departure from Nigeria. He shared a picture of himself on a plane and captioned it, “Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich.”
