Ilorin, Kwara State — Professor Azeezat Amoloye-Adebayo, a prominent Law professor at the University of Ilorin, has called for increased cooperation between parents and teachers to cultivate responsible citizens. Speaking at the graduation and prize-giving ceremony for Explore Academy on Saturday, Amoloye-Adebayo emphasized the vital role of parental involvement in education.

During her address on the theme “Education and the Society,” Amoloye-Adebayo highlighted that parents are the primary educators of their children. She stressed that both parents need to collaborate to shape their children’s futures. “The home is the first school, and parents are the first teachers. They must work together to guide their children towards becoming productive members of society,” she stated.

Amoloye-Adebayo further explained that while parents lay the foundation, teachers build upon it, ensuring that children develop the skills necessary to contribute positively to society. She urged both parents and teachers to work in unison to foster good behavior and responsible citizenship among students.

In addition to Amoloye-Adebayo’s address, Dr. Afeez Alabi, the Commissioner for Solid Mineral in Kwara State, advised parents to guide their children in choosing appropriate career paths.

The ceremony also featured remarks from Adenike Olumo, the proprietor of Explore Academy, who thanked parents and teachers for their support in the school’s rapid development. Olumo highlighted the school’s commitment to cultural diversity, noting that pupils are exposed to Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and French cultures, with French being taught as a foreign language.

The event concluded with vibrant cultural displays by the students, showcasing the rich diversity and talents nurtured at Explore Academy.
