Governor Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State has endorsed Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, a legislator from Zamfara State, in his bid for the Speakership position in the 10th Assembly. Governor Muftwang expressed his approval of Jaji’s candidacy during a courtesy visit by the legislator and other lawmakers seeking support for the esteemed position.
During the meeting at the Government House in Jos on Friday, Governor Muftwang stated, “Your quest to become the 10th Assembly Speaker is a welcome development. You have my support, and I wish you all the best. However, I urge you to remember the people of Plateau when you eventually assume the role.”
Jaji, in his visit to Plateau, extended condolences to the state government and people over recent crises and sought support and prayers for his aspiration to become the 10th Assembly Speaker. He expressed his motivation to bring orderliness to the legislative arm of governance and defend its independence.
Jaji also expressed his sadness over the killings and pledged a donation of N10 million through the Jaji Foundations to aid the Internally Displaced Persons in the state. He expressed confidence that with Governor Muftwang’s leadership and track record, the longstanding ethnic and religious crises in Plateau will be resolved.
