Key figures within the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathered over the weekend at the Osun State Government House to strategize and reinforce the party’s position in anticipation of the upcoming local government elections slated for next year.
Among the notable attendees were the state governor, Ademola Adeleke; former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Senator Olu Alabi; Alhaji Fatai Akinbade; Hon. Bamidele Salam; state chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi; and others including Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Alhaji Rasaki Oyelami, and the state secretary of the party, Prince Bola Ajao.
A communique issued at the conclusion of the meeting emphasized the imperative to unify the party, setting aside any past conflicts, particularly stemming from the 2022 gubernatorial primary. The resolution declared a commitment to solidarity under the leadership of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
Furthermore, plans were outlined for a larger gathering at the Banquet Hall, with invitations extended to a wider array of stakeholders. The establishment of an Elders Forum was announced, with quarterly meetings scheduled to facilitate ongoing dialogue and cohesion within the party.
Additionally, stakeholders were informed of an upcoming meeting at the State party Secretariat, scheduled to coincide with the installation ceremony of the Asiwaju of Edeland. This gathering aims to update stakeholders on the party’s status in Osun State and address pertinent issues.
The communique underscored Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke’s commitment to the welfare of party members and the broader populace of Osun State as a top priority.
