Renowned Nigerian Pastor and politician, Tunde Bakare, used his Sunday sermon to express disapproval of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad, for his associations with individuals engaged in drinking and smoking during his lifetime.
Pastor Bakare, who serves as the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, suggested that the late musician may have faced the consequences of his actions.
Speaking during a sermon in Leicester, United Kingdom, as part of the 2nd anniversary of The Envoy Nation and under the theme of ‘Harvest,’ the former presidential aspirant remarked, “My wife and I listened to a recording last night about MohBad. How many of you are familiar with MohBad? The Nigerian artist who passed away at the age of 27? MohBad.
“When he was indulging in drinking, smoking, and associating with negative influences, he likely didn’t anticipate that the harvest would arrive so soon, and he would be taken in the prime of his youth.
“I’m not here to place blame; I’m simply presenting the facts. Is ‘MohBad’ a favorable name? ‘Moh Bad.’
“There was a young man older than I am. He worked as a driver, and his nickname was ‘Eshu’ (devil). Everywhere he went, people addressed him as ‘Eshu,’ and he would respond.
“The day he had a fatal car accident, causing the loss of lives and landing him in jail, when he was eventually released, he exclaimed, ‘Mee Sheshu Mee Shushu’ (I am not the devil),” Bakare explained.
