The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council (SEC). This decision was communicated through a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Wednesday.
In accordance with the directive, all members of the cabinet are required to promptly hand over their responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices. Additionally, all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
Notably, the affected Commissioners and appointees were originally appointed by the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away last month. The statement underscores that the affected officials must ensure the timely and comprehensive handover of all government properties in their possession.
Expressing gratitude for their services and contributions to the state’s development, the Governor acknowledged the efforts of the affected officials. The dissolution of the State Executive Council marks a significant administrative move by Governor Aiyedatiwa as the state transitions into a new phase of leadership.
