The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to be wary of individuals with a history of opposition affiliation who now hold positions in his administration.
This caution came as the NSCF challenged Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Special Adviser (Political) in the Vice President’s Office, to publicly declare his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to affirm his loyalty to the ruling party.
In a statement released by NSCF spokesperson, Comrade Daniel Yakubu, the group alleged that Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed previously aligned with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose ideologies contradict those of Tinubu and the APC.
The NSCF demanded transparency from Baba-Ahmed, urging him to demonstrate his dedication to the APC and clarify his political stance. Additionally, the group called for a prompt investigation into Baba-Ahmed’s activities within the Vice President’s office to determine if he is working against President Tinubu’s government.
Yakubu emphasized the importance for President Tinubu to remain vigilant, especially regarding individuals who have previously opposed his interests. He highlighted Baba-Ahmed’s past involvement with the PDP and alleged efforts against Tinubu’s electoral success in 2023.
Furthermore, the NSCF urged the APC leadership to take decisive action against any government appointee found guilty of undermining the party’s objectives.
The NSCF also cautioned Northern leaders to stay vigilant against individuals who may be acting against the region’s interests, particularly those exhibiting double standards.
Yakubu stressed the necessity for President Tinubu to exercise prudence in his interactions with individuals potentially harboring hidden agendas. By staying vigilant and well-informed, Tinubu can safeguard his interests and ensure the success of his forthcoming election campaigns.
The organization reiterated its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration’s endeavors to construct a better Nigeria for all citizens.
