The Core Northern Professional Forum (CNPF) has reproached Senator Kabiru Marafa for his sharp criticisms of Defence Minister Mr. Bello Matawalle’s unwavering support for the administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement issued by the President General of CNPF, Malam Mikailu Kabiru Arabi, the group asserted that Marafa’s remarks, backed by the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), did not accurately represent the sentiments of the majority of Northern residents, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
CNPF applauded Defence Minister Bello Matawalle’s recent rebuke of the NEF, viewing it as a commendable move.
The forum expressed disappointment in Marafa’s behavior, criticizing his failure to align with the expected support for Tinubu’s efforts in addressing various challenges such as insecurity, education, agriculture, and unemployment.
CNPF reaffirmed its commitment to backing Tinubu should he decide to contest for a second term in the 2027 elections.
The group emphasized its support for Minister Matawalle’s stance, highlighting his significant contributions, particularly in combating insecurity, and urged him to remain focused on his duties rather than engaging in disputes with Marafa.
CNPF emphasized the need for collaboration in addressing security challenges and urged critics to offer constructive solutions instead of causing distractions.
It concluded by affirming its dedication to supporting the Tinubu administration until peace and security are restored in the nation.
