Nigerian media personality Nedu Wazobia has officially stepped down from his role as host of the popular podcast ‘The Honest Bunch’, following a scandal involving allegations of demanding sexual favors in exchange for movie roles.
In an emotional statement posted on Instagram on February 14, 2025, Nedu shared that while hosting the podcast had been an enriching experience, the ongoing scrutiny and false accusations had taken a significant personal toll.

“The past week has given me much to reflect on,” Nedu wrote. “Hosting ‘The Honest Bunch’ Podcast has been an incredible journey—one that has centered on open dialogue, bold viewpoints, and a willingness to engage in difficult conversations. However, with this responsibility has come an overwhelming amount of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations, which have now taken a heavy toll on me.”
He continued, explaining that although the decision was a painful one, it was essential for both his personal well-being and the future of the podcast.
“Given the recent developments, I have made the difficult decision to step down from the podcast. This is not something I take lightly, but it is a choice I believe is necessary—for my peace of mind, my family, and the integrity of the show. I’ve always prided myself on fostering honest conversations, but when those conversations result in unrelenting attacks and misrepresentations, it’s clear that stepping away is the best course of action.”

Nedu expressed hope that his resignation would help end the negative narrative surrounding his name and allow ‘The Honest Bunch’ Podcast to continue flourishing.
The resignation follows a public outcry triggered by accusations from social media commentator Martins Ortse, known online as VeryDarkMan. Ortse accused Nedu of soliciting sexual favors from female content creator Jojo in exchange for movie roles. The allegations surfaced amidst a feud between Ortse and comedian Deeone, who had previously insinuated on the ‘The Honest Bunch’ Podcast that Ortse was gay.

In retaliation, VeryDarkMan threatened to reveal the names of other celebrities allegedly involved in similar misconduct, intensifying the scandal and further overshadowing Nedu’s career.
