Nigerian gospel singer and CEO of Eezee Conceptz, Ezekiel “Eezee” Tochukwu, has broken his silence in response to viral allegations claiming that he was coerced by his artist, Mercy Chinwo, to transfer N500 million to her bank account.
The claims, which have been circulating widely on social media and various gossip blogs, suggest that Chinwo allegedly used her influence and personal relationship with Eezee to extort the funds, which were purportedly meant for a business deal. However, Eezee vehemently denies the accusations, calling them “baseless” and “malicious.”
Speaking exclusively to The Nigerian Herald, Eezee dismissed the reports as “false and damaging to both his reputation and the integrity of his label.”
“These allegations are not only untrue but also deeply hurtful,” Eezee stated. “I have worked closely with Mercy Chinwo for many years, and we share a professional relationship built on mutual respect. The story being circulated about me is a complete fabrication, and I intend to take all necessary legal steps to clear my name.”
The claims, which first surfaced in a now-deleted Instagram post by an anonymous source, alleged that Chinwo had demanded the money in exchange for continuing her work with Eezee Conceptz. The post quickly gained traction, leading to widespread speculation in both gospel and entertainment circles.
Mercy Chinwo, who has enjoyed significant success under Eezee Conceptz, with chart-topping hits like “Excess Love” and “Chinedum,” has not yet publicly addressed the allegations. However, sources close to the singer have expressed confidence that she will soon release a statement regarding the matter.
Eezee, on the other hand, has called for an investigation into the origins of the allegations. “I am committed to proving that these claims are nothing more than an attempt to tarnish the good reputation that I have built over years of hard work. The truth will come out, and I will not allow lies to destroy what we’ve worked so hard to achieve.”
As of now, the matter remains under scrutiny, with fans and industry observers closely watching for further developments.
