FOXBORO — A local resident is making waves in international cinema with the debut of her first feature-length film, blending heartfelt storytelling and cross-cultural perspective.

Adeola Olafikun, a Nigerian native who has called Foxboro home for the past seven years, recently premiered her debut movie, Twisted Mind, a family drama exploring themes of broken trust, blackmail, and betrayal. The film, produced under her own company, LydiaBecca Production, is currently streaming on YouTube via RoyalArts TV.

Filmed on location in Nigeria, Twisted Mind not only marks Olafikun’s first foray into feature filmmaking but also showcases her impressive range of behind-the-scenes talent. She served as executive producer, screenwriter, production coordinator, and casting director.

Born in Ekiti State, Nigeria, Olafikun said the project was a deeply personal journey.

“I’ve always been passionate about storytelling and wanted to bring a story to life that would resonate with families everywhere—whether in Nigeria, the U.S., or beyond,” Olafikun said in an interview. “Twisted Mind reflects the complexities of relationships, loyalty, and the human condition.”

The project also highlights her commitment to uplifting talent in her home country. Most of the cast and crew were local Nigerian creatives, and Olafikun said she was proud to contribute to the growing global visibility of Nollywood, Nigeria’s prolific film industry.

Though she now lives thousands of miles away from where the film was shot, Olafikun credits both her cultural heritage and the support she’s received in Foxboro as driving forces behind her success.

“Foxboro has been a supportive and peaceful community where I could focus on my goals,” she said. “But Nigeria is where my roots are—it’s where this story belongs.”

With Twisted Mind now live and gaining traction online, Olafikun hopes to expand LydiaBecca Production’s work with more stories that reflect diverse experiences, particularly those bridging the African and American diaspora.

“This is just the beginning,” she said. “There are so many stories left to tell.”
