A recent development in the ongoing legal battle within the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) has seen the Federal High Court in Ibadan issuing an order for accelerated hearing. The suit, brought forth by the Incorporated Trustee of CAC, Nigeria, revolves around a leadership dispute within the church and allegations of unauthorized operation of a church account.

Representatives from both sides, including the plaintiff and the respondents, were present during the proceedings. However, the sixth respondent, First Bank Plc, was notably absent. Despite the plaintiff’s motion to restrain the respondents from tampering with the church account, the court refused to grant this motion, citing the need to focus on expediting the substantive suit.

Justice Ekerete Akpan, presiding over the case, emphasized the importance of an accelerated hearing, dismissing the motion as lacking merit. Consequently, the court scheduled the next hearing for May 22 and ordered notice of service to be served on First Bank Plc. This development underscores the urgency and significance of resolving the leadership tussle within the Christ Apostolic Church.
