Senator Okechukwu Ezea, representing Enugu North Senatorial district in the National Assembly, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of one of his predecessors, Senator Ayogu Eze, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 66.

Senator Ayogu Eze served two terms in the National Assembly, during which he held significant positions. He chaired the Senate Committee on Information and Media during the 6th Senate and later chaired the Senate Committee on Works in the 7th Senate.

In a personally signed statement, Senator Ezea described the late Senator Eze as a “special friend, a strong ally, a gifted writer, a skilled orator, a leader par excellence, a champion of the struggle for the creation of Adada state, and a respected son of Igbo Nsukka.”

He further remarked, “Senator Eze and I shared many beliefs, political views, and aspirations. We were once members of the same political party and always fought together for the advancement of our zone, our state, and our nation.”

Senator Ezea recalled Senator Eze’s dynamic presence on the Senate floor, noting that his contributions to debates were insightful and impactful. He extended heartfelt condolences to Senator Eze’s wife, children, siblings, and the wider Eze family of Umuida, Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North LGA of Enugu State.
