During a meeting with oil marketers at the State House in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu made a commitment to put an end to the monopoly of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) as the exclusive importer and distributor of petrol to other oil marketers in Nigeria.

This move aims to foster competition and create a more inclusive and dynamic petroleum industry.

The President disclosed that his administration is totally committed to a competitive, stable, and transparent oil market.

He challenged the marketers to work with the government to ensure regular supply and convenient access to fuel products across the country at the lowest possible price.

“At a meeting yesterday with representatives of major oil marketers’ associations, in the course of the discussions, I emphasized my administration’s total commitment to a competitive, stable, and transparent oil market and challenged the marketers to work with the government to ensure regular supply and convenient access to fuel products across the country at the lowest possible price.”
