Renowned RuPaul’s Drag Race star Yara Sofia recently shared an update on her health after being hospitalized following a serious illness. The drag queen, known for her appearances on Drag Race season 3, All Stars 1, and All Stars 6, revealed that she had contracted a highly distressing virus.

Yara took to Instagram to provide fans with an update on her condition. Alongside a photo showing her arm hooked up to a drip, she described the challenging ordeal she had endured. “Approximately a week and a half ago, I started feeling unwell… I experienced severe diarrhea and vomiting, which prevented me from keeping any food in my stomach,” she explained. “I became so dehydrated that I fainted, fell flat on my face, and unfortunately, had an accident… I thought it was the end.”

Later on, Yara mustered up the strength to seek medical help and headed to the emergency room. “The doctor informed me that I had contracted an extremely vicious virus, as if it had come straight from hell,” she shared, adding her humorous interpretation of the doctor’s words.

The medical team at the hospital administered antibiotics, provided an IV drip, and prescribed a specialized diet to aid her recovery. Although she initially showed signs of improvement, Yara’s hospital stay was far from over.

“Nearly a week later, I started feeling better. I completed the treatment the following morning, woke up feeling great, but noticed that half of my face was swollen, resembling the character Jigsaw from the movie Saw,” Yara recounted. It was later discovered that the swelling was an allergic reaction to some of the medication she had received.

Fortunately, Yara confirmed that she received treatment for the allergic reaction and has since returned to normal health. Grateful for those who supported her during the challenging time, she expressed her heartfelt thanks to those who played a role in saving her life.

In conclusion, Yara shared a piece of unsolicited advice, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing one’s health above all else. She reminded her followers that having everything in life is meaningless without good health.

Yara Sofia, now back on track, is eager to return to her work and continue making a mark in the drag community.
