In a recent discussion, Big Brother Naija alum, Angel Smith, delved into the intriguing topic of how marriage can sometimes affect women’s perspectives. The reality show star expressed her views while addressing the ongoing debate sparked by a user, @NanaFirdausiii, who staunchly defended the sanctity of addressing husbands with reverence.

@NanaFirdausiii had remarked, “As my friend, if you call my husband by his name, I’ll first slap you and we’ll now fight and unfriend each other.

In response, Angel shared her thoughts, stating, “Some women undergo a transformation after marriage. Suddenly, ‘Mrs’ becomes their sole identity. But what should we call a friend’s husband? Sir or uncle?”

Acknowledging the nuances between generations, Angel remarked, “I consider cultural differences between Gen Z, millennials, and boomers. Personally, I won’t address my friend’s husband as anything other than their name, except in a playful manner.”

She concluded by questioning the significance of such debates in the larger context of societal issues, saying, “Why focus on trivial matters? This discussion seems frivolous. Even Jesus, as per the Bible, referred to his mother as ‘woman.'”
