In a stunning display of endurance, skill, and dedication to his craft, Nigerian celebrity barber T-Jos has carved his name into history by completing a 154-hour premium haircuts marathon, setting a new Guinness World Record.

The marathon, held in Lagos over six consecutive days, saw T-Jos deliver hundreds of precision haircuts without compromising quality an achievement that earned widespread praise from the global grooming community and beyond. Surpassing the previous record of 136 hours, T-Jos not only beat the benchmark but redefined the limits of human perseverance in the beauty and style industry.

“This is more than just about cutting hair,” said T-Jos shortly after receiving his official certificate from Guinness World Records adjudicators. “It’s about representing Nigeria, elevating African barbers on the global stage, and showing that excellence has no boundaries.”

Supporters from across Nigeria and abroad followed the marathon live on social media, where T-Jos trended for days. Clients, volunteers, and celebrities lined up day and night for a chance to be part of history and many left with more than just a fresh fade, calling the experience “inspirational.”

Health professionals monitored T-Jos throughout the event, ensuring he adhered to Guinness guidelines, which allow short rest breaks every hour, to be accumulated strategically.

Guinness World Records confirmed the feat on Tuesday, congratulating T-Jos and acknowledging the “remarkable discipline and precision required” for such a record.

As celebrations erupt across the Nigerian grooming industry, many believe this could mark the beginning of a new era for African stylists seeking recognition on the world stage.

“T-Jos has shown that what we do is art and art deserves a global spotlight,” said fellow barber and industry mentor Kay Styles.

T-Jos now plans to launch a training academy for aspiring barbers and hopes to use his newfound platform to mentor youth across Africa.
