Aisha Yesufu, the activist and co-convener of the #Bring Back Our Girls group, has expressed strong disapproval of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for electing former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman of the party.
Ganduje, who still faces pending bribery allegations after being caught on video allegedly collecting and pocketing wads of dollar notes, was elected as the party’s National Chairman by the National Working Committee (NEC) of the APC on Thursday in Abuja.
In a tweet on Friday, Aisha Yesufu criticized the party’s choice of Ganduje as its chairman, stating that the former Kano governor, who should ideally be facing legal consequences, is being rewarded instead. She pointed out that the ruling party’s decision to elect Ganduje shows a troubling tendency to encourage, nurture, and reward criminal behavior rather than holding offenders accountable.
