Afrobeats star and songwriter Adekunle Gold has paid heartfelt tribute to Fuji music icons Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister (Ayuba) and Yinka Ayefele, celebrating their influence on his artistry as he released his latest single, “Many People.”

In an emotional note shared on his Facebook handle, Adekunle Gold reflected on his musical upbringing and the role Fuji music played in shaping his sound.

“I grew up on Ayuba’s Fuji Music album, the same album that gave us Many People. His music shaped my childhood and my love for Fuji,” he wrote.

He went on to acknowledge gospel Tungba maestro Yinka Ayefele, who once reimagined the classic, giving it renewed life for a younger audience.

“Years later, Yinka Ayefele reimagined it and made it fresh for a new generation. Now I’m honored to carry it even further to have both of them on my song. Thank you sirs for blessing me and allowing this song to live forever,” he added.

Adekunle Gold announced the official release of “Many People”, calling on fans to enjoy the record, which now bridges three generations of Nigerian music creativity.

The collaboration marks a rare union of Fuji, gospel Tungba, and Afrobeats, underscoring Adekunle Gold’s growing reputation for blending genres and honoring musical heritage while pushing contemporary boundaries.

“Many People” is out now on all major streaming platforms.
