The Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership has embarked on a strategic move to unite opposition forces in a concerted effort to topple the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power.
Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, the national chairman of the ADC, revealed this development during a press conference held at the ADC Global Campus in Abuja on Tuesday. Notable attendees at the gathering included members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the Board of Trustees (BoT), and other key figures within the ADC.
Nwosu, in his address to journalists, highlighted the failures of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration, criticizing its performance across various sectors. He emphasized the need for a change in leadership and announced the formation of a committee tasked with reaching out to more stakeholders to bolster support for the ADC’s cause.
Citing dissatisfaction with the current government’s approach to governance, Nwosu condemned what he described as a lack of clear direction and ineffective measures to address poverty alleviation.
“The state of the nation is dire, and the current administration’s policies are insufficient to address our challenges,” Nwosu remarked. “Instead of engaging in futile debates, we must focus on developing a new political paradigm that prioritizes the well-being of our people.”
He disclosed that 22 political parties have joined forces with the ADC to establish a new mega-party aimed at effecting positive change in Nigeria’s political landscape.
While affirming the inclusivity of the new platform, Nwosu assured that all well-meaning patriots would find accommodation within the coalition.
“We welcome collaboration with political leaders who share our vision for a better Nigeria,” Nwosu stated. “Our goal is to forge a path toward national renewal and upliftment, and we extend an open invitation to all who seek meaningful change.”
