In the aftermath of the Court of Appeal’s affirmation of his victory in the March 18 governorship election, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has pledged a commitment to upholding the rule of law in his administration.

Speaking to journalists at Yola International Airport upon his return from Abuja, Governor Fintiri characterized the court verdict as an act of God and a triumph for the rule of law. The Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Binani, challenging Fintiri’s victory.

The court upheld the decision of the Adamawa Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, affirming that Fintiri, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was lawfully declared the winner of the election. Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from a diverse crowd of supporters who welcomed him at the airport, emphasizing that their solidarity transcended party lines.

Assuring the people of magnanimity in victory, Governor Fintiri pledged to continue delivering services for the overall benefit of all residents in the state. Additionally, he extended early Christmas wishes to the Christian faithful and reiterated his commitment to governing with respect for the rule of law. (NAN)
